haOr l’Olam Ministries
haOr l’Olam Ministries
(haOr l’Olam means "The
Light of the World") is a teaching ministry designed to bring the light of
the Messiah to his Bride, the church. Founded and directed by John F. and Diann
Phelps and headquartered in
Presenting the Hebraic heritage through teaching
and/or preaching, haOr l’Olam's themes
include, but are not limited to, the following: "Gospel Foundations"
(the Hebrew heritage of Christian faith, especially seen in the words and
actions of Jesus), "The Feasts of Israel" (showing how God reveals
his redemptive plan through the seven God-ordained feasts), "Old Testament
Patterns" (examining basic concepts in the Tenach [the Hebrew Scriptures or what we call the Old Testament]
and bringing their application into the New Covenant Scriptures and, thus, to our
lives,) and "Traditions and/or Customs of the First Century" (a wide
variety of customs or practices which illuminate New Testament texts). The
ministry also presents a teaching Passover Seder which, in addition to
revealing Jesus in the Passover, goes into the God-ordained and
traditionally-developed practices of the Seder, giving the theological
foundation for the practices and spiritual applications to our lives.
haOr l’Olam Ministries believes that because
the Christian faith was birthed out of Judaism of the first century, it is very
difficult to fully comprehend the sayings of Jesus, the events in His life, and
His teaching and ministering methods without having some knowledge of the
culture in which He lived and taught and the language(s) which He employed.
Unlocking these for our understanding is important to our ability to do the
word as we are commanded. Studying our Hebrew heritage is not an attempt to
make us Jewish or to put us under the Mosaic ceremonial and/or sacrificial
regulations. It is an effort to learn more about Jesus and the scriptures for
the purpose of increasing our love for Him and our confidence in the validity
and integrity of the text.
Responding to invitations to speak, John and Diann
travel extensively, throughout the year, ministering through teaching and/or
preaching in various settings, including single presentations, preaching
series, teaching series, conferences, and seminars. Their passion is to exalt
the name of Yeshua haMashiach (Jesus the Messiah) and to cause men and women
everywhere to come to a mature personal relationship with Him through the power
of the Holy Spirit.
